Brand Strategy & Creative Brand Refresh

During my contract as Marketing Manager at MetroCity Property Group, I led a strategic brand refresh focused on strengthening visual identity, improving consistency, and elevating how the brand shows up across digital touch points.

You can see from this landing page design I presented before I began the refresh, you can see the style and colours.

This was not a rebrand.

It was a brand refinement — designed to preserve the essence of the company while sharpening its visual impact, clarity, and confidence.

MetroCity Property Group already had a recognizable presence and a strong reputation. What was missing was visual cohesion.

Across web and social platforms, the brand lacked a unified system for:

  • Visual hierarchy

  • Consistent layouts

  • Clear brand expression

The challenge was to modernize the brand without losing familiarity — a common risk in real estate and property development brands where trust and recognition matter.

Before touching design, I focused on brand strategy.

I reviewed the existing brand through:

  • Visual audits

  • Website and content analysis

  • Social media review

  • Brand perception and tone

From this, I defined a clearer strategic direction that answered:

  • What should feel consistent across all platforms?

  • Where can the brand flex visually without diluting recognition?

  • How can the brand feel more confident and contemporary — without over designing?

This strategic foundation guided every creative decision that followed.

With strategy in place, I developed comprehensive brand guidelines to create a scalable visual system.

These guidelines covered:

  • Colour palettes and usage rules

  • Typography hierarchy

  • Layout principles

  • Image treatment and visual tone

The goal was simple:

Make it easier for the brand to stay visually consistent — across website, social media, and marketing materials — while still allowing creative flexibility.

The refreshed brand system was applied directly to the website to improve:

  • Visual clarity

  • Structure and hierarchy

  • First impressions and brand credibility

As part of the interview process, I also designed a concept website to demonstrate how the updated brand could evolve digitally. This allowed stakeholders to see the strategy in action, not just on paper.

The response was overwhelmingly positive — the team felt the new direction strengthened the brand without changing who they are.

I also oversaw the visual direction for social media, ensuring:

  • Cohesive layouts and templates

  • Alignment with the new brand guidelines

  • A recognizable, professional presence across platforms

This consistency helped reinforce trust and recognition, especially in a competitive market where visual clarity matters.

Strong brand work isn’t about starting over. It’s about seeing what’s already working — and making it unmistakable.

This project highlights my approach to brand strategy and creative direction: thoughtful refinement, clear systems, and design decisions rooted in purpose — not trend.

Now, MetroCity features

  • A clearer, more confident visual identity

  • Strong brand guidelines that support long-term consistency

  • Improved cohesion across website and social media

  • Stakeholder alignment and enthusiasm around the refreshed direction

Most importantly, the brand retained its core identity — while presenting itself with greater polish, intention, and professionalism.
